One thing worth knowing about the station layout: there are elevators and escalators between the concourse and platform levels, but the stretch from the concourse down to street level is stairs-only at both the north and south exits — no elevator, no escalator. With a large suitcase or a stroller, that one stretch has to be done on the stairs. The distance itself is short, so take your time. The station also has coin lockers (¥400 small to ¥1,000 extra-large, cashless payment only), ATMs, an accessible restroom, and free Wi-Fi inside the gates. If you arrive before check-in time, stashing your luggage here before heading out to explore is a smart move. Once you're down the stairs and on the street, you'll see a two-lane road with a pedestrian crossing directly in front of you — this is the starting point of your walk.
Step 2: Cross the street and look for Ganaha Pork Shop
Once down the stairs, cross the crosswalk directly in front of you. The Miebashi intersection can make you wait a bit depending on the signal, but take your time and cross safely. After crossing, look across the street and slightly to your right — you'll see Shabushabu Ganaha (しゃぶしゃぶ我那覇, formerly Ganaha Butaniku-ten), a shabu-shabu restaurant specializing in Okinawan Agu pork. It's a well-known local spot with a clean, understated storefront that stands out against its quieter surroundings — the easiest landmark to spot in the whole area. Step 3: Keep Ganaha Pork Shop on your left and follow the road
This is the key step. When you reach Ganaha Pork Shop, take the road on the right side of the restaurant and keep walking straight. From your walking direction, the restaurant will be on your left as you pass. Heads up: if you take the road on the left side of Ganaha Pork Shop instead, you'll pass 7-Eleven Naha Maejima and loop around — a slightly longer route. You'll still end up at SUNZ ROOMS, but unless you want to grab drinks or snacks, the right side is the shorter path. That said, if you'd like to stop at a convenience store before checking in, the left route is a nice option — 7-Eleven is the only convenience store between the station and SUNZ ROOMS, so this is a good moment to stock up. If you take the right-side road, keep the restaurant on your left and continue straight.
Step 4: Turn left at the first corner — and you've arrived
After passing Ganaha Pork Shop, walk a little further and you'll see the first corner coming up. Turn left here. Immediately after the turn, SUNZ ROOMS will appear on your right. Look for a white exterior and an outdoor staircase decorated with traditional Okinawan flower blocks (hana-block — those geometric perforated blocks common in Ryukyuan architecture). A grey gate and shutter, plus a small "SUNZ ROOMS" sign next to the entrance, mean you've arrived. The sign is intentionally subtle rather than a bright neon piece — we designed it this way to respect our guests' privacy. If you arrive at night, your phone's flashlight will help you spot it easily.
